A new HoTT Cycling group has been formed to encourage more cycling in the Holme Valley with a campaign called ‘Bums on Saddles’. Transport accounts for 37% of Holme Valley Parish carbon emissions and The Holme Valley has one of the highest car ownership rates in Kirklees. Cycling is a low -cost, emission- free form of transport, with many other benefits to physical and mental health but there may be barriers for new cyclists or those wanting to start cycling or using their bike as a more frequent form of transport. Local support and advice is at hand from the Bums on Saddles volunteers by emailing cycling@hott.org.uk
